The first project workshop "Bioenergy in the Nordic Countries: Status, Opportunities and Risks" was held on 24-25 October in Lysebu, Norway. The following sections will be updated with the workshop report, copies of presentations and other relevant information.

The workshop was attended by participants from all the Nordic countries from various sectors and parts of the bioenergy value chain.

Through a combination of presentations, panel discussions and workgroups, some of the most central issues pertaining to an expanding Nordic bioenergy market were covered. Preliminary project results were discussed and foundations for further activities were laid through the active participation of the attending experts and specialists.

During the workshop several reports, publications and on-going debates were referred to. The following section provides and overview of these reports and topics.

The discussions during the workshop will form the basis for further analysis and investigations, which will be presented during workshop II on the 4th of March in Stockholm.

The Energy Farm is an information and learning centre for bioenergy and is a demonstration facility for the entire bioenergy chain from production, harvesting, drying to the use of biofuels. The centre plays an important role in promoting bioenergy and furthering knowledge and understanding of bioenergy both among specialists, students, decision-makers and the general public. The centre has strong links with national and international bioenergy research environments.
