European projects

ERA-Net (European Research Area Network) is a European scheme aiming at increasing the cooperation and improving the coordination between national and regional research activities in Europe.

Nordic Energy Research participates in the ERA-NETs INNER (innovative energy research) and Smart Grid. Nordic Energy Research participated in the HY-CO ERA-NET (hydrogen and fuel cells) from 2004 until it ended in September 2008.

In INNER and HY-CO Nordic Energy Research has taken on the responsibility of managing trans-national calls. Through INNER a new trans-national programme was created: The Northern Innovative Energy Research Programme (N-INNER) involving funding agencies in Germany, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. A first call for proposals in N-INNER was launched in 2007 with a total funding of 6.5 M€. A second call for proposals will be published 16 January 2009.
